Music

The purpose of the Parkway Baptist Church Music Ministry is to offer musical experiences for preschoolers through senior adults to grow in their relationship to God, to have fellowship with other believers, and to reach unbelievers.

Worship music at Parkway Baptist Church is traditional and inclusive. During the service the congregation sings hymns, as well as contemporary choruses. The choir sings anthems, ranging in style from Bach to contemporary. Soloists and ensembles—both vocal and instrumental — offer a wide range of musical styles. Music is presented as an offering to God as the church family communicates to God and to each other about God’s continuous work in our lives and praises Him for His blessings.

Children’s Choir and Level Up Ensemble – currently on hiatus

The Children’s Choir and Level Up Ensemble includes children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. The choirs meet on Wednesday evenings in room B-206 from 6:30-7:00. Rehearsals begin in early September and end in late May.

Our weekly activities include:

  • Rehearsing choral anthems and hymns to be performed in the worship service throughout the school year;
  • Learning about music through singing, fun activities, and playing instruments; and
  • Discovering that we can praise and honor God with our voices and through our music.

All children are welcome.
