March Mission Madness

March 8, 2024

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19

The last couple of Wednesday nights have been filled with fun. Last week we had more than 54 people involved in various activities at the church. After an incredible dinner, children from the neighborhood came for tutoring, older kids were involved in crafting, our adult group had a fun time at trivia night and the choir prepared for worship on Sunday. There were prizes and good competition! It was a beautiful time of fun and fellowship.

This week there were about 60 people present. We were honored to hear from church members Miguel Hernandez and Sam McVay about immigration in the United States. Miguel graciously shared with us about his personal experience and the experiences of those he knows and has worked with. Sam has helped many in this process and explained some of the challenges that people face. This was a good time of discussion and also good preparation for our upcoming trip to the border.

Next week we will hear from church member Matt Pogue and his colleague about his homeless ministry here in Atlanta. Matt graciously helps with the coat drive each year and has many other ways that we can be involved in helping bring the light and love of Christ to those in our community facing homelessness. I hope you can join us for a wonderful meal and great time of fellowship.

Our March Mission Madness is a great way to learn about all that God is doing in and through our faith family. We are living into our calling as a church to go and make disciples in all the world. We are working in Christ to bring light wherever we can. Let’s be the church we are called to be, together!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Caroline
