Know Your Neighbor; Love Your Neighbor

Know Your Neighbor;
Love Your Neighbor

On Sunday, the Parkway border mission team had the opportunity to share about our trip during
a joint Sunday school session. The group shared photos and stories as well as information about
the realities of what is happening on the border.

The team met with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship field personnel, staff and partners as we
considered our call as the body of Christ. We will work to continue to develop these
relationships as time goes on. We are certainly blessed to be a part of a fellowship of believers as
we encourage one another and love one another.

As disciples of Jesus we are constantly working on our discipleship. We spend time in scripture,
in prayer, in fellowship and in relationship. We discern who God created us to be so that we can
be all we were meant to be, together. As we discern our calling, we remember that we are called
to welcome the stranger as well as to love our neighbor. Both of these callings are challenging
and require as much time and energy as we can give them. To welcome the stranger, we need to
know their needs. To love our neighbor, we need to know who they are and what they have

Here in John’s Creek, in our little corner of the Kingdom of God, we have a unique opportunity
to bring the call to welcome the stranger together with the call to love our neighbor. We live in
an area that is extremely diverse and filled with people from all over the world. We are working
to make these border trips as easy and affordable as possible so that everyone can participate.
Pray that we continue to open ourselves up to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and how you might
engage in our ministry. We are the body of Christ together.

“’Love the Lord your God

with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it:

‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matthew 22:37-39
