From the Staff . . .

Jane Redman
Since the Pandemic, we have had “scaled down” events for Halloween and Easter. This year, I am excited to get back to more normal festivities! On Saturday, October 29, we will hold our first event that will be open to the public. We will host a Fall Festival. The time for the festival will be 11 am until 2 pm. It is hoped that this will be an event for every single person in the church. Much work is going into making sure that there are activities for every age and activity level!
We need you! We have so many talented people in our church. We would love to showcase that talent! I have sent our emails to the people that I know have artistic talents, but I am sure that I do not know all the talents that we have! If you are an artist or any kind, if you make jewelry, knit, crochet or sew, if you love to cook or bake sweet treats, we have a place for you to showcase your wares! I am sure there will be opportunities for you to sell items that you have made! Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to participate in this way. Other than showcasing our talents, we would love to have a bake sale to help cut the cost of summer camp for our youth and children. We would also like to celebrate the different countries of origin in our church and in the community around us. It would be so nice to have a table where foods from around the world could be sampled! Again, if this is something that interests you, please let me know!
Our Mission’s Committee will set up a table to accept canned food, pasta, rice, etc. for our annual Feed the Hungry Drive which will begin on Sunday, October 30. They will also have information about our other ministry partners.
As with all of our Parkway events, there will be food and games! There will be our own special quidditch game, corn hole, pumpkin ball volleyball, crafts, face painting and a special surprise or two! We will also have story time and square dancing!
Since Parkway is also blessed with many talented musicians, there will be the opportunity to share your musical talents during the event.
I have contacted the committee chairs whose umbrellas these events fall under. If you get a call to help, please seriously consider helping with this event.
Most of all, we need participation! Please put this date on your calendar and not only be there, but bring friends and neighbors! The more people we can introduce our church to, the more likely we are to see some of them again!
I hope to hear from all of you soon as to how you would like to participate in this event!
