A New Year – Hymns Used 2019-2020

A New Christian Year begins on Sunday, November 29, 2020. This is the first Sunday of Advent, which begins the 2020-2021 Christian year for Reformed Churches like Parkway Baptist Church. The beginning of a new year, whether January 1, the beginning of a new calendar year based on the modern Gregorian calendar, or the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of a new liturgical year is a natural time to think about the year past and the year ahead.

It is at this time of year I like to look back at the hymns we sang as part of worship at Parkway Baptist Church. Below are the results of what I found. In addition, if you have ever wondered how our hymn use at Parkway Baptist Church compares to other churches, I found information on Hymnary.org listing the hymn tunes and hymn texts most often published and searched on Hymnary.org.

Here is to the New Year! Let our singing in the days ahead be a comfort to our souls and an encouragement to those around us.
