Child of God

May 17, 2024

Dear Faith Family,

As many of you know, last week I finished up my final PhD seminar at Baylor. I have really
enjoyed my seminars over the last few years. My professors and the other pastors have
encouraged me and helped me to grow in my ministry in so many ways.

At the same time, it has certainly been challenging. It has required working long hours and
extra days. It has required a lot of travel, a lot of reading and a lot of writing. Each of these
challenges however has contributed to my growth.

There are so many people that have supported me along the way, including many of you.
And I couldn’t have done it without you. It takes a community to do what God calls us to do,
and I am so very thankful for mine.

I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I take the occasion to celebrate milestones as I go.
I will begin further developing my dissertation and will continue to read and write.

Whenever God leads us through strenuous times, we keep looking up and look to God to
guide us through. We may grow weary and we might face challenges along the way, but we
persevere. We do it because we know that God has great things ahead. We can do it because
we know that God is with us.

I know that many of us are facing challenging times in one way or another. I just want to
encourage you to look to God, rely on your community and persevere. We can do it,
together!

May God grant you the strength to follow Christ in all things.

You are loved. You are cherished. You are a child of God.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Caroline

for we will reap at harvest time,
if we do not give up.”
