When God called the Church into existence to be the Body of Christ on earth, there is no indication that it was to be a group of disparate human beings, each following the teachings of Christ and seeking to do God’s will on one’s own. We were given each other to encourage one another, to hold each other accountable, and to be effective in ministry far beyond what we are able to do on our own.

Within that larger Body of Christ groups of Christians join together in congregations that share a ministry to a particular place. The family of faith at Parkway is called to just such a mission.

With texts taken mainly from the Gospel of Matthew, from now until the beginning of Advent we will look at the intention God has for the Church, the traits we must have to be effective in our work, and the benefits we receive from mutual service.

Join us each week at eleven as we look at our “life together.”
