Fearless

fear·less
adjective
lacking fear.
synonyms: bold, brave, courageous,

In June, I prepared to take my first trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia. I was feeling the typical “right-before-an-adventure” jitters, but I was surprised to feel fear leading up to a trip. I have traveled all over the world with groups and by myself. I have navigated international airports and Greek bus schedules, but there seemed to be an unknown that brought fear for this trip. I have never claimed to be super brave, but I have always worked hard to not let my fear change my plans.

Claiming to be fearless has nothing to do with my own strength or relying on my own abilities. I can claim to be fearless because I know I have been sent by God to do these things. Being fearless goes hand-in-hand with trust. I am reminded of 2 Timothy 1:7 “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” Being fearless is not just a tattoo or nice cliche to claim; it is a promise from the Holy Spirit. How will you be fearless today?
